Is there any benefit to implement the Packetshaper?

Hi All:

I have activated the traffic discovery on the packetshaper. However, I discover that the customer network utilization for many application is so low(Often 10-11%) and the network efficiency is often reach to 100 %.

It seems that there is no traffic congestion in the network. Thus, I want to ask is there any benefitical to implement the packetshaper if the customer network utiliziation is so low. Please give advice. Thanks!

Hi Packing,

I think you have answered the question yourself. If there is only 10% utilization, you can justify a downgrade or at least defer upgrades.

No one can come and complain to you the network is slow. You have the proof from the PS. How much is that worth ??

Blue Coat have PS without a Shaping license (cheaper) for just these customers
